Don’t you just love Butterfingers? I sure do. The sweet flaky peanut butter crisp.. mmmm. I am ecstatic that I have found yet another “microwave” recipe that works! I guess I should not say found, because I really just made it up. I tried making a homemade Butterfinger recipe last year that completely flopped, but I had a general idea of what to do this time. That first batch turned out harder than Butterfinger Brittle and was sure to break my teeth if I tasted it. This time, I winged it. I put 2/3 c Candy Corn in a Pyrex Measuring Cup, and added 1/3 c. Peanut Butter. Then, I microwaved it for 30 seconds at a time. It took the mixture 4, 30 second rounds to look like this once stirred. Watch carefully that the middle doesn’t scorch. Stir often to prevent this from happening. The mixture will be smooth and crackly like this. I smashed it down to let it cool. Once cooled crumble it with my fingers. By the end, I was using a cup to crumble it into more fine crumbs.
What am I going to do with all of this?
- Butterfinger Shakes
- Butterfinger Cupcakes
- Butterfinger Rice Krispy Treats
- Butterfinger Hot Cocoa
