Carnation Breakfast Smoothie

Carnation Breakfast Smoothie

This Carnation Breakfast Smoothie is my breakfast of choice. I am a creature of habit, as most of you may be. I seem to eat the same breakfast over and over. Call it routine. Call it comfort. Call it convenience. Whatever it is, I tend to repeat what works for me. I came across a similar recipe years ago when we got a Bowflex home gym. This recipe was part of the nutrition plan that it gave to kick start your weight loss. This particular Carnation Breakfast Smoothie has 280 calories, and is a great balance of the protein and carbohydrates, and fat that you need to get going in the morning. It’s quick, it’s filling, and who doesn’t want chocolate for breakfast? Maybe this can kick start your morning the way it does mine.

Carnation Breakfast Smoothie

1 packet Carnation Instant Breakfast (Any flavor, but I like prefer chocolate)
1/2 Banana
1/2 c. Skim milk
1 tsp. Safflower oil
4 – 5 Ice Cubes

Place all the ingredient in a blender, blend, drink and go.

Some of you may have questions about the safflower oil.  One tsp. of safflower oil contains about 42 calories alone. So why on Earth would we add extra calories that we can’t even taste? The answer is FAT! Good fat, that is. By adding good fat into your diet, your body can use the fat as it needs. If you are not taking in good fats, your body stores the bad fat, and our bodies have a way of storing bad fat in all the wrong places.  If you start making good fat changes, you will start to store less of the bad fats in your love handles!
