Mama’s Homemade Oreos

February 18, 2014 by Marie 4 Comments

Mama’s Homemade Oreos

I don’t care who you are, if you are a woman, sometimes you just need a little chocolate. I haven’t always been of that opinion. I don’t know if I have ever bought a chocolate bar just to eat. In fact, Skittle have always been my go-to candy of choice (I can hear you all cringing right now). However, I’m here to say, these cookies have played an integral role in my conversion to chocolate-craving womanhood. Give them a try. You might find yourself converting too.

Mama’s Homemade Oreos

2 boxes devils food cake mix (I like Pillsbury)

4 eggs

1 c. oil

Combine the above listed ingredients.  Drop by Tablespoons full 2” apart onto a greased cookie sheet.

Homemade Oreos 002

Bake at 350o for 10-12 minutes.  Do not over bake.

Homemade Oreos 003

When cool, sandwich two cookies together using:

1/2 can cream cheese frosting

Makes about 42 cookies (22 oreos).

I made this and it was awesome, could you also substitute red velvet cake mix?

That sounds delish! Yes, any cake mix flavor should work. I had lemon last week! -Ali
