Spooky Halloween Snack Mix

Spooky Halloween Snack Mix - Perfect combo of salty and sweet

If you are a fan of sweet & salty treats, this is the snack mix for you! This spooky Halloween Snack Mix has an odd combination of tastes. Who would have thought that popcorn, Fritos and M&Ms covered in white chocolate could be such an addicting treat? It may sound a little weird, but trust me, you’ll love it!

Here’s what you will need:

14 cups popped, unsalted popcorn (approximately)

1/2 – 3/4 bag of lightly salted Fritos

1 – 24 oz. block of  White chocolate bark coating

12 oz. Orange, Purple, Lavendar and Black M&M’s*

Put the popped popcorn and Fritos into a large bowl and set aside.

Melt the white chocolate bark in the microwave according to the directions, then and drizzle about 3/4 of the melted chocolate over the popcorn/Frito mixture. Toss to coat all pieces. Spread onto parchment lined baking sheets or roasting pan.  Before it sets up, sprinkle the colored M&M’s over the coated popcorn & Fritos mix. Press lightly so they will stay put.

Using a spoon, drizzle the remaining white chocolate over the entire mixture. (This helps to “glue” the M&Ms to the snack mix!) Allow to set up. Break into clusters and serve.

I have also made this mix for other holidays using different color M&Ms. At Christmas time, it’s easy to find bags of red and green. At Easter, you can find the M&Ms in pastel colors. You could even use your school colors to make a fun treat for a special event!

Just for fun…Here is a picture of my St. Patty’s Day Snack Mix! See what I mean? You can use any color of M&Ms to match your party’s theme!

*Most party stores sell different colors of M&Ms by weight.
