I normally buy the Family Size pancake mix at the store, but just was taught by my mother-in-law how to make Perfect Homemade Pancake Mix. I love this idea. I like knowing exactly what is in the food that I feed my family, and I also don’t mind saving a little money. Ok, I LOVE saving money. The best part is, you probably won’t even have to go to the store because you might even have all the ingredients at home. This is SO easy, and SO delicious! Check out how easy it is to make your own pancake mix from scratch.
Ingredients
- 10 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 1/2 Cups Powdered Milk
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Baking Powder
- 2 Tablespoon Salt
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients together well. Makes about 13 cups finished mix. Store in an airtight container and use within 6 months.
My mother-in-law recommends this book. She said that when she had a young family, she made all her mixes. Brilliant right?
Once you are ready to make your pancakes, try making it {shaking it up} in one of these Blender Bottles. It will change your pancake-eatin’ life.

I have a question. Do you need to add an egg along with the water…and how much water do you use per cup of mix? Thanks.
I am using the “just add water” pancake mix and just following the instructions on the back. Good question Marsha. Thanks for stopping by.
It still isn’t clear how much water to add? 1 or 2 cups of water per cup of mix?Sounds like a great idea but I would like to make it easy enough that my husband can make them by just following the directions after I make the mix.
