There is a food truck in our area that serves the best, yeast raised “Liege” Waffles. They are topped with all kinds of rich, delicious toppings. I would say that they are definitely a dessert, rather than a breakfast food (although if you made them for breakfast, I’m sure nobody would complain!) The one drawback when it comes to making your own “Liege” Waffles is that the yeast dough (which is actually a dough, rather than a batter) takes hours to make. If you’re like me, you don’t have time to spend hours making dough. I came up with this recipe to copy my favorite food truck’s liege waffles. The best thing about this copycat recipe is that the dough is already made by Rhodes! I have a secret to making them as close to liege waffles as possible without spending hours making dough.
