Bath Salts. Take me away!
A nice hot bath is something I look forward to at the end of a busy day. Adding bath salts, makes my hot bath so much more soothing.
I like to make my own bath salts because it is less expensive and I can customize it the way I like. I choose to leave out the dyes and coloring that are usually found in commercially made bath salts. For the scents, I use essential oils. My favorite is the orange essential oil.
This recipe is basic. Add your favorite scent!
3 c. Epsom Salt
1 ½ c. baking soda
1 ½ c. water softener (found in the aisle by the laundry detergent)
Mix well in a large bowl. Add a 10-20 drops of your favorite scent of essential oil.
Use a whisk to combine all of the ingredients.
If you put it in a cute jar with a ribbon and a tag, it makes a nice, personal gift!
(Please remember to be cautious when using any bath additive, as they may cause the surfaces to become slippery!)
